Marites Carino

With a background in dance and broadcast journalism, Marites Carino combines her passion for dance and film through her inventive dance shorts. For more than a decade she was the dance editor at the cultural weekly the Montreal Mirror. She enjoys telling people’s stories, and particularly those who use art to overcome obstacle, like in tremor, a year-long collaborative project that was created with a group of people with Parkinson’s. Her award-winning works have screened at numerous international festivals and art spaces. In her spare time, she dances slowly to fast music, cycles, snaps photos and writes about herself in the third person.
