Claudine Hubert

Claudine Hubert is a writer and independent curator of digital and visual art, with a interest in the artistic potential of AI, in performance and institutional structures. She has been active in the Canadian cultural milieu for over fifteen years, beginning with the Symposium International d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul in the early 2000s, and co-founding Third Space Gallery in Saint John, NB where she managed publications and community outreach. She was part of OBORO for 11 years, including 7 as General Codirector and Artistic Director, where she initiated a number of programs for artists such as the local artist residency, the curatorial research program M&M with Mexico City, and a wide range of professional development workshops in digital arts. She has been a board member of the RCAAQ and the IMAA and is today an active member of both Centre Clark and the Viva ! Art Action performance art festival. She holds a BA in Art History and an MA in translation studies. Claudine is currently providing Strategic Development for MUTEK, a festival of electronic music and digital art. Of settler descent, she was raised in the traditional territory of the Algonquin, in the Ottawa valley, and has lived Tiohtià:ke/Montréal since 1998.
