Sarah Davachi

As a composer of electronic and electroacoustic music, Sarah Davachi engages in practices of analog synthesis and psychoacoustic manipulations. Her work focuses on the experience of enveloped sonic dwelling, often utilizing extended durations, gradual transformations in texture, and simple harmonic structures that emphasize overtone complexity and natural phasing patterns. She has completed artist residencies at The Banff Centre, STEIM, EMS (Stockholm), and WORM (Rotterdam), holds an MFA in electronic music from Mills College in Oakland, California, and has been employed as a researcher with the National Music Centre in Calgary since 2007. Her work has been released by Students of Decay, Important Records, Constellation Tatsu, Full Spectrum, and JAZ Records.
