Rachel Lafo

Rachel Rosenfield Lafo is an independent curator, writer, consultant and lecturer based in Vancouver. Her guest curated exhibitions include: Brendan Tang & Alex McLeod, Surrey Art Gallery (2013), Odd Occurrences: Narrative in the Art of Kristin Bjornerud, Tamara Bond, Tomoyo Ihaya, and Carrie Walker, Seymour Art Gallery (2012), Michelle Allard and Khan Lee: Circulation Patterns, Simon Fraser University Gallery (2012), Drive-By: Danny Singer, Seymour Art Gallery (2011), and Redefining Drawing, Jennifer Kostuik Gallery (2010). Her reviews, articles, and artist interviews appear in such publications as Sculpture Magazine, Public Art Review, Art in America, Mousse and Canadian Art, and she wrote the essay on artist Thomas Houseago for the Rennie Collection exhibition catalogue. Lafo is Chair of Vancouver’s Public Art Committee, President of the Contemporary Art Society, and teaches courses in sculpture and public art at Emily Carr University. She was previously Director of Curatorial Affairs at the deCordova Sculpture Park + Museum, in Massachusetts.
