Laurent Lévesque

Laurent Lévesque is a self-taught visual artist who explores spaces of tension between natural and artificial. He is interested in our reports to nature, space and time, in a context of environmental insecurity as well as facing technologies authority, market mundialization and the omnipresence of Internet. Since his first exhibition in 2011, he has shown his work all around Quebec and Canada, as well as in France and in the United-States. He has has individual exhibitions at the Regional Museum of Rimouski, Centre for Contemporary Art Bang, at Oudeis (Le Vigan, FR), at Artist-Run-Centre Verticale and at the Museum of Fine Arts of Sherbrooke. He has been awarded many grants, including from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec and the Canada Council for the Arts.
