Håkan Jonson

Håkan Jonson is an artist, programmer and publisher whose work includes digital art, printmaking, book crafting and paintings. In his digital works Jonson often explores the possibilities of language and artificial intelligence, with recurring thematics concerning authenticity, reproduction and the distinction between life and machine. With a background in computer science and numerical analysis (Lund University, Sweden) Jonson has been internationally recognised for his digital works; in 2014 he was awarded the first N. Katherine Hayles Award for Electronic Literature. His work is frequently referenced within the field of electronic literature studies and has been exhibited in Sweden, Palm Springs, Latvia, Portugal, Vancouver and in Paris. He lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden.
