ellen belshaw

ellen belshaw is a curator, writer, photographer, editor and drummer based in Montreal/ Tiohtià:ke, Canada. Their interests lie in the complexity of relationships, both interpersonal and with the world around us, which they approach from a background of critical spatial theory, queer theory, and intersectional feminism. belshaw recently curated Mexican artist Gabriel Peña Tijerina’s solo exhibition more at TAP Art Space (Montreal) as well as Lo que sabiamos pero no pudimos decir/What we all knew but couldn’t articulate at the FOFA Gallery (Montreal), including five Mexico-based artists. They were the inaugural international curatorial intern for the SOMA x FOFA exchange program in 2016. belshaw is currently working on founding a micro-press and plays in the band inland island.
