Anne Ashton

Born in California, Anne Ashton studied visual art at San Diego State University and the University of California, Santa Barbara. She has been active in Montreal’s art community for almost thirty years. A founding member of Centre Clark, where she was also the Vice-President of the Board of Directors, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of Plein sud gallery. She has had over twenty solo exhibitions in Quebec, Canada and the United States, including at OBORO (2004), the Musée régional de Rimouski (2007) and Plein sud (2010). Her works are part of many public, corporate and private collections in Canada and the United States. A mid-career monograph, edited and published by Éditions Plein sud, appeared in 2011. Since 2009, Anne Ashton has been teaching painting to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Education at McGill University. She lives and works in Longueuil.
