2017 was marked by anniversaries highlighting the colonial history of this country called Canada. In order to reflect upon this context, and beyond it, OBORO's artistic committee chose to entirely devote the year's programming to Indigenous artists and thinkers, inviting Indigenous artists from our own board of directors and community to select the artists who will come to develop their projects in our studios.
To document this year of research and thinking, OBORO had the pleasure of welcoming the talented videographer Mélanie O'Bomsawin throughout the year, thanks to the support of the Fondation of Greater Montreal.
The screening of Mélanie's works will be followed by a discussion with the artist about the issues raised by this programming, and how to make it resonate in the future.
