The installation ᑲᑕᔾᔭᐅᓯᕙᓪᓛᑦ Katajjausivallaat, le rythme bercé was created specially by Inuit artist Nancy Saunders for the Festival de Casteliers. It is presented in conjunction with FREEZE! by Dutch performance and visual artist Nick Steur. Saunders' installation includes suspended stone sculptures accompanied by a sound art piece grounded in throat-singing. The suspended stones sway to the sounds of singing kept alive by generations of women including Nancy Saunders, who proudly carry on this tradition through this contemporary work of art.
