Conceiving and making multiscreen installations

Pedagogical Assistant:

Workshops - 30 hours
September 21-22, 28-29 and October 5-6, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Registration
from August 20 to September 20, 2019

This workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive knowledge of the mechanics involved in producing a personal documentary film installation.  It will explore new models of perception as they relate to the expanded relationship between documentary and installation.

Through exercises and practical experiments, we will investigate how a documentary film installation can create a consciousness of perception and bodily experience within a spectacle.  The workshop will explore the effects of environmental montage and how different screens can interact and compete with one another to produce a three-dimensional visual field.

The workshop culminates with each participant completing an installation. One project will be made for every individual involved.  We will apply the principle of never having fear or shame in the dignity of our experience, language and knowledge.
