Robin Dupuis’ most recent exhibition project, Commutative, explores the emotional connections we develop with images and electronic sounds. With multiple visual and sound projections, the installation emulates an environment at once immersive and minimalist that confronts the viewer with the evanescence of the image. This project-synthesis proposes a group of installation and tactile objects which arouse a reflection on the physiological impact of the moving image’s aesthetic reception.

For the past few years, Dupuis’ media art works have studied the spatialisation of digital objects and the language of the moving image. Based on an exploratory consideration of rhythm and continuity-discontinuity, he approaches image making through sound creation. In his installation and single-channel video work, he brings together animation and microsampling techniques within structural schemes. The result of continuous editing, these schemes build a new poetics of the contemporary moving image within a mechanical and narrative assemblage.
