On January 17, 2009, we celebrate Art's 1 000 046th birthday!
For its birthday—as proclamed by artist and poet Robert Filliou in 1963—art slips away from museums and galleries to infiltrate life, becoming a cake or a bridge, at once meaningful and trivial.
Good art, bad art and unborn art take the streets for a party... and we tag along!
It all started on the 17th of January, one million years ago. A man took a dry sponge and dropped it into a bucket full of water. Who that man was is not important. He is dead but art is alive.
